Washing instructions for all types of wool
We focus on durability, the highest quality, and trust. That's why we'd like to share tips that will make your purchase even more worthwhile. Here are instructions for caring for our alpaca, cashmere, and wool knitwear:
Tip 1: As soon as the surface becomes uneven and you feel pilling, the wool needs moisture! Try simply hanging your knitted item outside overnight. Foggy, rainy, or snowy weather is especially good for the wool.
If that is not enough:
Tip 2: For long-lasting durability, wash by hand at lukewarm water if possible. Use an eco-friendly detergent like our Alpacare (available in our online shop). Dosage: Use 10 ml of detergent.
Tip 3: Washing in the washing machine: Hand wash program, low spin speed (400 rpm or less), temperature: cold or 30 degrees. Dosage: 30 ml (1 capful) per 4.5 kg of wool.
Tip 4: Never dry knitwear while wet. After washing, place the knitwear between two large terry towels, roll it up, and step on it to remove excess moisture. Then stretch it into shape and let it dry overnight on the back of the sofa.
Tip 5: Iron very thin knitwear inside out. Pilling can naturally occur with coarse knitwear. Use a lint remover like the Cashmere Comb to remove the lint in the direction the fabric is woven. Then, gently iron over the garment at a low temperature to make it more durable.
